Energy Efficiency Design
One of the many wonderful aspects of building a custom home is that you can plan for and design energy efficiency as a core tenant of your requirements. First off, the way that we build your home, in a climate-controlled facility, offers great advantages in energy efficiency. We are able to seal each wall and penetration much better than a typical home. Also, each wall in built with 2×6″ lumber, which gives you better r-value than the typical 2×4″ walls of typical construction. Besides physical structure, we provide levels of energy efficiency through monitoring (so you can see where/how you spend energy), efficient appliances (which consume most of your energy) and options to reserve capture energy (via solar panels and onsite battery solutions).

Honesty and transparency are some of our core values as a company raised in the South. From the start, you will get a shared “Allocation Spreadsheet” that has all of your variable costs listed. You will work with our designers to select each finish for your home, and be able to see how that cost, and all costs, effect your overall costs and over/under budget number in real time.
